Not only do today’s practitioner in audit, governance, privacy, risk and security need to be knowledgeable about their disciplines, but increasingly, they have to understand how their fields are being impacted by emerging technologies. IT professionals seeking to boost their skillset in emerging tech and ensure their knowledge is up to date can now pursue ISACA’s new Certified in Emerging Technology (CET) certification.

Established IT professionals, students and recent graduates alike can differentiate themselves with employers and gain foundational knowledge about the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and cloud without having prior experience. The CET certification’s hybrid learning model features both practice- and knowledge-based learning—including live labs in a virtual environment—and allows for the certification to be achieved anytime and anywhere.

Similar to ISACA’s recently launched Information Technology Certified Associate™ (ITCA™) certification, the CET certification is achieved by completing a series of stackable certificates that allow IT professionals to upskill and cross-skill in specific domains:

  • Cloud Fundamentals Certificate
  • Blockchain Fundamentals Certificate
  • IoT Fundamentals Certificate
  • Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals Certificate

“It is important for professionals in IT audit, risk, security, governance and privacy to have an understanding of emerging technologies and how they intersect with their work, as well as impact their organizations at a business level,” says David Samuelson, ISACA CEO. “With the new Certified in Emerging Technologies certification, ISACA is pleased to offer our global community the tools to gain this knowledge and skillset and continue to take their careers to new heights.”
