Thorough compliance audits are critical to the success of every IT organization—and every auditor. But to achieve the desired results, sufficient time and resources must be allotted to prepare for the audit. An effective audit means meeting time, cost and quality expectations, which is possible with proper organization and intention. Audit efficiency can be improved by mitigating process bottlenecks or eliminating them altogether, which may involve dedicating an amount of time to a task that is directly proportionate to its importance. These efforts will result in a more satisfactory response time and increase the adaptability of the audit.
