Celebrating ISACA Volunteer Appreciation Week

During ISACA® Volunteer Appreciation Week (19-25 April), the ISACA staff and leadership will extend their appreciation for the many volunteers who selflessly contribute their time and efforts to advancing information technology for ISACA members and the global community. ISACA volunteers serve as advocates and knowledge experts in their fields and deserve to be honored as such. Without the support of our dedicated volunteer corps, many of ISACA’s core competencies would not be as successful as they are. ISACA staff rely on expert guidance from volunteers to create and deliver award-winning ISACA certifications, conferences, publications, research, public affairs outreach, global community engagement, awards, translations, new certificates and so much more.

In 2019, ISACA offered more than 90 volunteer opportunities and filled nearly 1,500 volunteer roles. This is in addition to the nearly 3,000 volunteer chapter leaders who participate each year and the more than 2,800 volunteers who served their local communities during the inaugural ISACA CommunITy Day. The passion and dedication of ISACA volunteers is inspiring, and for that ISACA thanks you.

Why should you get involved? Here are a couple comments from past volunteers:

  • “Collaborating with ISACA globally was a priceless experience. Sharing knowledge with experts around the world is an incredible opportunity that only a few organizations offer.”
  • “This is a great way to give back to the community that helps me grow each day!”

Available opportunities range from quick tasks to ongoing working groups to meet you where you are in terms of availability and interest. Volunteers earn free continuing professional education (CPE) credits (role depending), build professional networks, gain experience and advance the professional community. Learn more about volunteering on the How to Volunteer page of the Engage website, and save the date for ISACA CommunITy Day on 3 October 2020. More information will be posted online as CommunITy Day approaches.
