In 2018, security leaders gathered in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, and London, England, for ISACA’s annual IT Security Leaders’ Summits (formerly known as the CISO Forums). These leaders met to discuss challenges; network; share best practices, lessons and successes; and further the overall security profession.

As a result of the rapid evolution of the technology industry, security leaders are faced with more challenges more quickly than ever before. These summits allow leaders to discuss new and upcoming cybersecurity regulations, challenges associated with obtaining and retaining the right talent for the security team, and the disruptive nature of emerging technologies. All security leaders need to be aware of these issues because, as discussion at the summit reinforced, there is no one solution that will work for every enterprise. However, being prepared for trending issues and keeping the board aware of new and upcoming issues helps ensure success as long as these endeavors are adequately funded.
